Question of the Day

At what age is it necessary to have a cell phone?
When did you first have a cell phone?

Although it was a different time, I got my first cell phone when I was 18. I barely used it then and I still limit my use.

I don’t know too much about these things. I don’t have a cell phone, and I don’t plan on using one in the near future. I see people using one in a grocery store, or on the street, or behind a desk, or in a restaurant, and it gives me a negative attitude towards the things. Why do I need to know what’s going on in people’s lives while I’m buying groceries? And I’m not trying to be a conservative dinosaur, it’s not the technology, it’s the purpose. I like DVR!

I don’t think it’s really necessary for children to have a cell phone. Perhaps when one learns how to drive it could come in handy, but not when we are 12-15 years old. Generations before us have lived there entire lives without cell-phones!

I got my cell phone when going into middle school. I think that it is very useful because I can find out where my mom is to pick me up after school, and I can store my own contaacts in it so it is easier to call a friend to do something, if I am going somewhere like a big place with my family and i dont need to stay with them I could usually take my phone to know where each other are, and when I’m in the car or something, I could use my phone to text or chat with friends, or get some help with something, or make plans with someone from the car, etc.

Well, I’m in homebase 28. Hopefully, someone else is, too!
I got a cell phone before 6th grade. Since I walk to school, this made sence in case I needed to call my mom to pick me up or something. I think that before middle school, a cell phone isn’t necessary. I honestly use it very rarely, and never text.

I got my cell phone going into 6th grade (like 5 days before). I rarely use it also, and rarely text. I’m not married to my phone like some people are…

I got my first cellphone when i was about 8, but it wasn’t that much of a cellphone. It was called the “Migo”, and it was this tiny little kid’s cellphone that could only hold four phone numbers plus one emergency button already build into it (911). When I got my real cell phone, it was for my birthday at the end of 6th grade:P It was an iPhone 3GS and I was so excited! I still use it although I’ll probably get a new one and the end of 8th grade or something.
Oh, and I got my hb letter today also, Iliana. I’m in rm 28:)

I’m in homebase 26, which is Dr. Hollis’s room. I went through the whole school today giving my sister who is going into 6th grade and her friend a tour.

What is “aha:p” supposed to mean?

A quick google search indicates that it’s:

“the archives of history of american physcology”

    “affordable housing assistance program”

    “Asbestos Hazard Abatement Plan”

    “Alaska High-Altitude Aerial Photography”

Which one is it? I have to stay in touch with the 7th graders as I grow farther and farther away from them.

None, sorry to say. I think that Ashley meant, “Aha!”, probably in response to me and Jesse, and then :p was probably supposed to mean that she wishes she could be in Mr Dowling’s homebase, too! If I’m wrong, Ashley, just tell me. I am not all that sure either.

  21. Comment by Elizabeth on September 7, 2010 at 9:26 pm

    No, the homebase thing.
    Well, I guess it doesn’t matter… considering that you’re actually in 25!
