The Shays' Rebellion

Many farmers suffered through hard times and debt. Taxes in Massachusetts were very high. Those who could not pay their taxes lost their land and were jailed.
1787-The farmers protested the state taxes and asked for relief from their debts.
The government said no--->Rebellion led by Daniel Shays
The Massachusetts militia stopped the rebellion.
Afterward, leaders from several states called for a convention to revise the Articles of Confederation.
