To what extent does geography influence history and the way people live?
Geography is the study of people, their environments and their resources.
Geography influences the food we eat, jobs we have, clothes we wear, etc. Geography has affected history of everyone from Native Americans to you and me.
The Five Themes of Geography are Movement, Region, Location, Interaction and Place=MR. LIP
Movement-Travel from place to place, exchange of goods and ideas
Region-United by similar physical conditions, United by common cultural traits
Location-In latitude and longitude (exact location) or in relation to another place (relative location)
Interaction-People adapt to the environment, people change the environment
